With just eight spacious Meru-style tents and personalised service, the lodge is designed to feel like a home away from home, relaxed, intimate, and close to nature.

Our History and Connection to the Region

Ichingo Chobe River Lodge has long been part of the riverbank’s story. Originally a family-run lodge, it became known for its unbeatable fishing, local expertise, and genuine warmth. In 2011, it joined the Zambezi Queen Collection and later became part of the Mantis Collection, a curated portfolio of boutique properties committed to conservation, community, and character.

The Mantis ethos aligns naturally with Ichingo’s core values of responsible tourism, personalised experiences, and a deep-rooted connection to place. Our longstanding presence on Impalila Island has allowed us to build meaningful relationships with the people who call it home, and we are proud to contribute to local upliftment through our Community Development Fund.
